Dave released music himself online, appearing on different musical platforms including YouTube, before making an appearance on SB.TV in 2015. He performed at Bestival in 2016, and performed alongside AJ Tracey on their song, 'Thiago Silva' about the Brazilian footballer. Later that year, Drake remixed his song 'Wanna Know' which peaked at No.51 on the chart, marking Dave's first charted song.
In 2017, Dave released 'Samantha' with J Hus, and released EP 'Game Over' which peaked at 13 in the charts, and went on tour. After taking a few months out, Dave released 'Funky Friday' featuring Fredo, which debuted at Number 1, and released his album 'Psychodrama' in March 2019, also debuting at number 1 and generated a sell out UK tour of the same name.
Dave has also been a staple of UK rap, featuring in albums and singles with other top rappers such as Headie One (2019), D-Block Europe (2019) and Giggs (2020), continuing to push forward the genre of UK rap.
One of Dave's first tracks, Dave released this track with another UK rap artist AJ Tracey and it has since gained immense retroactive popularity.
Six Paths was Dave's first EP, featuring six tracks including 'wanna know' which would soon be remixed by popular canadian rapper Drake.
The track was remixed by Canadian rapper Drake, marking the first major commercial success of Dave's career and the respect of fellow, as yet more successful artists.
Game Over was Dave's second EP, released over a year after his first EP and 'Wanna Know', issuing provocotive challenge to then prime minister Theresa May and setting a benchmark for the artistry of Dave's future releases.
Funky Friday was a major release for Dave, and the whole Grime and UK rap scene, as this was the first Grime track to hit number 1 in the charts, an accolade which was shown reverence by fellow artist Stormzy's invitation to perform during his Glastonbury set.
Psychodrama was Dave's debut album, which was met with great critical acclaim and earned him the Mercury Prize, an accolade of high standing.
